About the Role
An HVAC Cost Estimation Engineer prepares detailed cost breakdowns (BOQs, BOMs)
for HVAC projects by analyzing technical drawings, specs, and tenders, coordinating
with sales/procurement/design, evaluating vendor quotes, and creating accurate
proposals/budgets to support competitive bidding, requiring strong mechanical
knowledge, software skills (Excel, Auto CAD, E20 SHEET, McQuay Duct Sizer) and
problem-solving to ensure profitable project bids.
Requirements
Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and
equipment for HVAC systems (chillers, VRF, ducting).
Quantity Take-Offs: Perform accurate material take-offs from
architectural/mechanical drawings and specifications.
Proposal & Tender Prep: Create comprehensive BOQs, BOMs, and tender
documents, including technical submissions, for bids.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers, evaluate quotes, and negotiate
pricing for competitive costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Project Managers, Sales, Design, and
Procurement teams.
Budget & Cost Control: Support project budgets, track costs, and analyze
variances.
